Our Feedback
Seahawk preschool is the best there is! My daughter Octavia comes home
Kate
each time from Seahawk beaming. She only ever has positive things to
say. We are always greeted with a warm smile each time and Octavia has
made some lovely friends and speaks very highly of the staff there. We
love Seahawk so much that my son will follow in her footsteps and join
them when he’s old enough. I will only ever have great things to say
about Seahawk.
Our daughter, Aiyla, absolutely loves her preschool experience! From
Emily
the very beginning, the staff has been incredibly supportive, especially
during her potty training adventure. They’ve created a warm and
encouraging environment that helped her transition so smoothly, making
her feel confident and comfortable. It’s clear that the teachers
genuinely care about each child’s development, and we’ve seen Aiyla
grow both socially and emotionally. We’re so grateful for the positive
and nurturing experience she’s had here!
About Seahawk Preschool
Welcome to Seahawk Under Fives, part of the Naval Under Fives group and located in the heart of Gosport at 201 St Nicholas Avenue. We hold a “Good” rating from Ofsted, with our most recent inspection in January 2025.
As a small, passionate team of four, we pride ourselves on creating a nurturing, engaging, and nature-rich environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn. We are all deeply committed to eco-conscious practices and outdoor learning—values that recently earned us a Silver Award in the RSPB Wild Challenge.
Our approach is hands-on and child-led, with a strong focus on loose parts play. We believe that open-ended resources spark creativity, problem-solving, and independence. Children are encouraged to explore, build, and imagine using everyday materials—from sticks and stones to fabric, crates, and recycled items—supporting both their physical and cognitive development.
We regularly take part in environmental activities such as our much-loved Community Clean-Up Day, and have proudly adopted a giraffe at Marwell Zoo for the past two years. Our cuddly mascot, Gilbert the teddy, is very much part of the Seahawk family—he joins the children in daily adventures and even goes on holidays and days out with them, helping strengthen home–preschool connections in a fun and memorable way.
With our love of nature, strong community ties, and creative early years approach, Seahawk Under Fives is a place where children can grow, thrive, and have fun

Seahawk Preschool Team Members
Bobbee Hazzard -Manager/DSL

Hello, my name is Bobbee Hazzard, and I am proud to be the Manager and Designated Safeguarding Lead here at Seahawk Preschool. I have been working with children since 2012 and hold a Level 3 qualification in Children’s Care, Learning and Development. I am also fully trained in paediatric first aid.
Supporting children as they grow, learn, and flourish is truly my passion. I love working closely with families to help each child reach their full potential, preparing them for a confident transition into Year R.
Outside of preschool life, I’m a proud mum to my son and stepson. My husband is ex-Navy, and as a military family, we’ve experienced many deployments together—something that has shaped my understanding of the unique challenges some families face.
I look forward to welcoming you and your child to our Seahawk family!
Amanda Morby – Deputy Manager / SENCO

Hello, my name is Mandy, and I’m the SENCO here at Seahawk Preschool. I hold an Early Years Foundation Degree and am fully trained in first aid. I bring both professional and personal experience to my role, having supported children with additional needs in a school setting, as well as navigating the journey of securing an EHCP for my own child. This has given me a deep understanding and empathy for the challenges families may face, and I’m passionate about helping every child access the support they need to thrive.
I’m a proud mum of five and currently have eight wonderful grandchildren who keep me on my toes! I’m a fun, energetic person who loves to stay active and positive. I have a real passion for nature and enjoy taking my camera out to capture special moments outdoors. I also love taking part in different wellbeing activities—yoga on the beach is one of my favourites!
Stevi Legg-Evans – Early Years Practitioner

My name is Stevi Legg-Evans, and I hold a Level 2 Diploma in Childcare
as well as a Level 3 First Aid qualification. I am passionate about
working in childcare and take great pride in supporting children as they
grow, learn, and thrive. I am currently looking into furthering my
childcare qualifications to continue developing my knowledge and skills,
so I can provide the best possible support for children’s learning and
development. Outside of work, I enjoy going on walks and spending
quality time with my family and friends.
Amanda Lavin – Early years Practitioner

I am an Early Years Practitioner at Seahawk Under Fives and have had the pleasure of being part of Naval Under Fives since 2020. I hold a Level 3 Diploma as an Early Years Educator, along with a range of additional training certifications.
I thoroughly enjoy being part of the early years team and have loved my journey so far—building strong relationships with colleagues, children, and families alike. I am also a qualified Holistic Well-being and Mindfulness Practitioner and enjoy incorporating this into my role, helping create a calm, happy, and enjoyable experience for everyone at NUF.
